Chiropractic
Chiropractic is the professional use of passive joint movements, also known as mobilization, as well as active movements with a limited range, known as manipulation. During the examination, neurologist Dr. Aleksandar Delić determines whether there are indications for chiropractic treatment, or whether contraindications are present in cases where the intervention is not recommended.
What is chiropractic?
Chiropractic is based on specific techniques performed by chiropractor Dr. Aleksandar Delić in order to activate and mobilize soft tissues and joints, with the aim of reducing pain, increasing range of motion, eliminating swelling, inflammation, and stiffness. These techniques are based on mobilization and manipulation, which lead to muscle relaxation and increased tissue elasticity. Due to its effects, chiropractic represents one of the treatment methods for acute and chronic spinal pain and is an important link that can make the overall treatment more effective.
What is the therapeutic effect of chiropractic?
The therapeutic effect is achieved in two ways: physiological and biomechanical.
The physiological effect includes pain reduction through the pain gate theory and stimulation of descending inhibitory pathways. Indirectly, pain is reduced by decreasing muscle spasm, reducing periarticular tissue tension, lowering intra-articular pressure, and reducing nociceptive activity.
The biomechanical effect is achieved through joint therapy, improving flexibility and movement dynamics, which accelerates the healing process and tissue remodeling. Chiropractic techniques are applied to joints, muscles, and nerve tissues with the aim of reducing pain, increasing joint mobility, improving nerve function, increasing muscle length, and restoring normal function.

Dr Aleksandar Delić
Specialist in neurology with subspecialist expertise in electromyoneurography (EMNG) and Doppler ultrasonography of the carotid arteries. He completed his basic medical studies in 1993 at the Faculty of Medicine in Novi Sad. He completed his specialization in neurology in 2000 at the Faculty of Medicine in Belgrade, at the Clinic of Neurology, Clinical Center of Serbia. Two years later, he completed a six-month course in electromyoneurography (EMNG) at the Clinic of Neurology, Clinical Center of Serbia in Belgrade, and in 2017 also completed a course in neurosonology (color Doppler of the carotid and vertebral arteries) at the same institution. In 2014, he attended a chiropractic course with Dr. Cameron Reed in Norwich, UK.
As an author and co-author, he has participated in European and world congresses, where he has demonstrated outstanding results through his work with colleagues.
